Best photography locations in Prospect Park, New York. For families and couples.

December 7th, 2024

It's a beautiful park. You could go anywhere and can't go wrong. However, there are certain areas that can bring out the most of your photo shoot. These are my two favorite areas:

My 1st favorite area to photograph in Prospect Park is starting form The Picnic House, heading down to the Prospect Park Dog Beach with a final stop in the extra-wide open space of Long Meadow Ball-fields.

The Picnic House has a Colonial Revival architectural style that looks amazing as a backdrop.

As you walk towards the Prospect Park Dog Beach, don't let your camera down! There are many photographic opportunities on the road.

What I love about the Dog Beach is the fact that I can use the water and the reflection of the trees behind. If you get lucky a friendly dog might bring some action into your photographs (didn't happen to me yet but I keep my hopes up!)

Ending the session right across the beach at the Long Meadows Ball-fields can give you beautiful sunset photos with a large enough background where your subject really pops!

My 2nd favorite area to photograph in Prospect Park, New York starts at The Prospect Park Boathouse, crosses the Lullwater Bridge and ends in a similar fashion with a wide open area.

Before crossing the bridge, you can make a short left, for a lake view spot where swans sometimes gather.

As you cross the bridge, on one side you can have the beautiful Boathouse as background (see 1st photo) or the surrounding trees, on the other side.

After you took some gorgeous pictures on the bridge, cross it and make a right. This is another great area by the lake, where Chris and Remi chose to say "I do" under the careful watch of Milo🐶

Follow the path after crossing the bridge and it will lead you to a wide open beautiful meadow! A perfect place to end your photo session.
